Yannick Noah : "Charango"

Yannick Noah (May 18, 1960, Sedan, Ardennes, France) is a former professional tennis player from France. He is best remembered for winning the men's singles title at the French Open in 1983, and as a highly-successful captain of France's Davis Cup and Fed Cup teams. Since his retirement from the game, Noah has remained in the public eye as a popular music performer and as the founder of a charity organization for underprivileged children. In a song titled "MĂ�ÂŠtis(se)" Noah refers to being a mĂ�ÂŠtis, which in French-speaking Africa (or generally France as well), is used to describe someone who is of both white European and black African ancestry (though Noah had made a point of his mixed ethnicity long before the song's production). He is of Cameroonian and French descent.
Since retiring from playing tennis, Noah has developed a career as a popular singer, performing throughout Europe. He began his music career in 1991 with the album Black or What, featuring the popular track "Saga Africa".
Noah made music news in the summer of 1997 with a new single entitled "Oh RĂ�ÂŞve". His audacious adaptation of "La Marseillaise" Ă˘â�Źâ�� originally written by Rouget de Lisle in 1792 and adopted as the French national anthem Ă˘â�Źâ�� succeeded in ruffling a few feathers. The pacifist reworking of the strongly patriotic message of "La Marseillaise" led to protests from several war veterans' associations.
In collaboration with Jean-Jacques Goldman, Noah released a second album in 2000 entitled simply Yannick Noah, and in October 2006, scored a major French radio airplay hit with the single Donne-moi une vie from a new album entitled Charango.
In 2005, Noah performed at Bob Geldof's Live 8 concert Ă˘â�Źâ�� a fundraiser aimed at alleviating poverty in Africa.
Noah is very active in charity work. He supports 'Enfants de la Terre', a charity run by his mother, Marie-Claire, and founded 'FĂ�ÂŞte le Mur' in 1996, a tennis charity for underprivileged children.

Redemption was the first Conjure One track that was released to the public at all. The Max Graham remix came out even earlier. The name of this track was "Conjure One" at first, until Rhys decided to take this as the bandname. Then it was called "Untitled" for a while, and then "Redemption" finally. The track features vocals by Chemda, the language is Syrian Arabic.

The Original Version is a very little different from the album version, the arrangement is completely the same, its just a new mixing. In one of the drumrolls towards the end you can hear a flanger/phaser in the album version, which is missing here, and thats the biggest difference.

The Max Graham Dead Sea Remix is a trance style mix, yet a very good one. Uses few recognizable samples from the original, but the ambience is different from classical trance stuff, as there's this very moody sound that you hear from the beginning. A very pushing bass drum thing, reminds me of Underworld, but in a straighter fashion. Better than the Sleep Remix that MG did. This remix is also available on the Bonus Disc of the Conjure One album.

Great for you trance lovers. The Antillas mix is trancey but doesn't descend completely into cheesyness, the vocals are kept to a minimum and haven't been speeded up to mickey-mouse territory. The Low End Specialists mix has more of an electro-house feel. Actually not bad at all.
